PRESS RELEASE | New Trailer and Truck for MAY

In conjunction with RM trailers, Portacraft’s design office have come up with yet another world beating design to cater for transporting Carbon Fibre/Aluminium throughout Europe.
After nearly 30 years of analysing the various options of transporting Carbon/Aluminium extrusion by road, Portacraft will launch this unique option in May 2009.

Designed to meet all the new European regulations and specifically designed for carrying masts, it allows us to access places unobtrusively, important when considering regatta venues. The trailer will be able to transport over 38 m throughout Europe, with similar multi support arrangement throughout the full length of the trailer like previous designs.  Light weight construction, coupled with intuitive new technology to the frame and rear steering and greater payload,  it will be true winner.

With the need for incredible manoeuvrability this trailer will be hauled by a brand new custom made Renault Mascott Articulated truck on full air suspension, this will aid the transit of the masts on long arduous trips like across the Somma Sierra in Spain.

Whilst designing this trailer. Portacraft have incorporated the ability to cater for the new maximum design length of the Americas Cup 33 masts @ 33.6m. After having transported more than 50% of the old AC version @ 32.5m to and from Valencia and Volvo open 70 masts @ 31m to and from Alicante and Vigo in Spain, Portacraft feel competent to be able to deliver this same high quality service for any other future agreed events.
